On March 19, 2019, Disney-Pixar, via their YouTube channel, released the official trailer to the beloved kid’s toy film franchise Toy Story. For those unfamiliar to the series, Toy Story is a computer-animated franchise based on the adventures of anthropomorphic toys that began in 1995 with the film of the same name.
While there are many notable characters such as Rex the Dinosaur and Slinky Dog, the “stars” of the franchise are Sheriff Woody, a cowboy voiced by legendary actor Tom Hanks, and Buzz Lightyear, a space ranger superhero voiced by fellow legendary actor Tim Allen.
The trailer clocks in at just under two and a half minutes, but ran for more than enough time to set the stage for what is next for the toy gang. Bonnie, the owner of the toys after the original owner Andy went off to college, according to Woody, “made a friend today.” The rest of the toys are ecstatic for their owner as she seems to be adapting to a new school. The toys should have taken Woody more literal as Bonnie turned a spork into a toy. Equipped with googly eyes and all, Forky joins the gang.
After realizing he is not a toy but a utensil for eating, Forky evacuates, and Woody soon follows to bring him back home. In typical Toy Story fashion, chaos ensues and the plan to bring Forky back are met with a few detours along the way. How will Buzz, Woody, old, new, and returning characters help save the day this time?
Toy Story 4 is slated for release June 21. Are you excited for the latest, and last, installment to the Toy Story franchise? Let us know in the comments below!
