During Ubisoft’s third quarter earnings call on Tuesday, Ubisoft CEO and co-founder Yves Guillemot said the company is looking into changing the name of upcoming title Rainbow Six Quarantine.
“On Rainbow Six Quarantine, we are creating a product that is actually, as it’s named today, it is something we are evaluating and we will see what comes in the future on that product,” said Guillemot.
It makes sense for Ubisoft to consider a name change for the upcoming title, since the COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect everyday life. It also doesn’t help that the game deals with the spread of an alien plague.
Announced during E3 2019, Rainbow Six Quarantine is a quad-based survival FPS. The game doesn’t yet have a release date, but Ubisoft CFO Frederick Duguet said the plan is to launch the title by September 30, 2021.
