Following a tease yesterday, the release date for the first DLC for Pokémon Sword and Shield has been revealed.
In a currently unlisted trailer on their Youtube channel, The Pokémon Company revealed more information on the upcoming Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra DLCs. The trailer features glimpses of new characters, Galarian forms, and the scale of the new locations.
The updated website for Pokémon Sword and Shield reveals more detailed information on each of the new additions.
Isle of Armor
Isle of Armor will add a new Galarian form for Slowbro, where Shellder has taken the form of a poisonous hand cannon. Joining it will be the Cram-o-matic, a machine that will combine any four items into a new, potentially rare item.
New tutor moves will also be included with the first DLC which can be taught to a Pokémon in exchange for Armorite ore, a new item that can be found throughout the Isle. Another new addition is Max Soup, a new item that can grant the Gigantamax ability to any Pokémon with a corresponding form.
The Crown Tundra
New details on the co-op Pokémon Dens were revealed. In these, players will be able to team up in teams of four and explore and face multiple Max Raid battles. The Pokémon within these dens can even include Legendaries, but lose one battle, and players will be kicked out.
Previously spotted Pokémon from the reveal trailer were also detailed, confirming the Galarian forms for Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres as well as two new Regi forms. The second DLC will also add new double battles in Wyndon featuring characters from the story.
