PlayStation 5 Will Come in Two Versions

One will have a disc drive, the other will not

After months of fans wondering what the PlayStation 5 will look like, Sony today provided an answer during today’s showcase.

Sony will offer not one, but two versions of the PlayStation 5 — one will have an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive, while the other will omit it completely. Apart from some visual differences, Sony said the two versions will offer the same gameplay experience.

We don’t know if the two versions will differ in terms of how much storage you get. We also don’t know if they’ll include the same accessories or have the same price tag. Regardless, we should learn of any additional differences in the near future.
