In a statement on Twitter this morning, Microsoft announced it will offer full refunds to those who purchased Cyberpunk 2077 from the Microsoft Store.
Microsoft said it has given refunds “to the vast majority of customers who have requested one.” That said, the company will expand its refund policy to make sure anyone who purchased Cyberpunk 2077 from the Microsoft Store can get a refund.
Unlike Sony, Microsoft isn’t delisting Cyberpunk 2077 from its online store. That doesn’t mean the company won’t reverse course in the near future, but the game remains available on the Microsoft Store.
Microsoft’s statement is a direct result of the game’s relatively poor performance on the PS4 and Xbox One. Even on the new-gen consoles, Cyberpunk 2077 has had performance issues.
Developer CD Projekt Red plans to release patches to hopefully address the issues across all platforms, particularly on the PS4 and Xbox One. The developer will also release versions optimized for the PS5, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X, which will arrive as updates at a later date.
