Maze Theory has announced the latest concerning their upcoming projects on their website, including details for new Doctor Who and Peaky Blinders games.
The update reveals that another two Doctor Who games are in the works, following the release of Doctor Who: The Edge of Time on VR devices. The three games will form a trilogy including new adventures, mechanics and intriguing subplots. Iconic features of the franchise will also appear from Daleks, Weeping Angels and the Thirteenth Doctor and her TARDIS.
One of the two games will release on Xbox and PlayStation consoles as well as the Nintendo Switch and PC. The other will be a mobile game focusing on horror and sci-fi themes developed in partnership with Kaigan Games. Both will launch early next year.
The previously announced VR title, Peaky Blinders: The King’s Ransom has now been revealed to be subject to extension and will be releasing in 2021 on additional platforms and devices. The specific platforms are, at the time of writing, unknown. The game is set to feature iconic characters and locations from the British Drama TV Series.
Maze Theory also announced that an original IP VR narrative game is in the works. The project is currently known as Engram.
The new narrative VR title will focus around futuristic technology that allows players to explore other peoples memories, and venture further into the layers of their own.
“Maze Theory is evolving to the next level. We know from feedback that fans of shows like Doctor Who and Peaky Blinders crave new and exciting experiences across multiple devices and interwoven stories that create an overall experience far surpassing that of a single game.” said Maze Theory CEO, Ian Hambleton.
