Today, Rockstar Games announced Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online will launch on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X in 2021.

During today’s PlayStation 5 event, Rockstar said the next-gen version of Grand Theft Auto V will be “expanded and enhanced.” The company didn’t specify on what that meant, only saying the game will include “a range of technical improvements, visual upgrades and performance enhancements.”

Rockstar also confirmed GTA Online will head to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X during the second half of 2021. Interestingly, this will be a standalone release.

According to Rockstar, the next-gen version of GTA Online will get new updates and special content exclusive to it. The company didn’t say what the content will include, though GTA Online will be free for PlayStation 5 owners during its first three months of availability.

While we wait to learn more, PS Plus members on PlayStation 4 will get GTA$1 million every month they play GTA Online until the mode’s standalone release on PlayStation 5.
