Despite Google Stadia’s rocky launch, Google isn’t ready to throw in the towel yet. If anything, the company will double-down on its support of Stadia with over 100 titles slated to launch on the service this year.
“Over the next few weeks and months, players can expect to see everything from action-filled RPGs to competitive co-op titles and nimble platforms,” reads Google’s blog post.
Some notable launches include two Shantae titles: Shantae: Half-Genie Hero Ultimate Edition and Shantae: Risky’s Revenge – Director’s Cut, both of which will launch February 23. Other titles include FIFA 21 (March 17), Judgment (April 23), and Killer Queen Black.
It’s a well-timed blog post on Google’s part. Earlier in February, the company announced it shuttered its internal game development studios. As a result, Google will focus on offering third-party titles on Stadia.
It remains to be seen whether the previous announcement is an arbiter of things to come or just a blip on the roadmap. Either way, the recent blog post looks to re-affirm Google’s support of Stadia.
