For the month of February, four new games come to Xbox Live subscribers, with a few newer hits and one incredibly exciting game from the original Xbox era.
Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon
Battle with swords and whips in this retro-style action game brought to you by game creator Koji Igarashi and Inti Creates! Play as Zangetsu, a demon slayer bearing a deep grudge, who must travel through perilous lands to defeat a powerful demon lurking in a dark castle. Zangetsu will meet fellow travelers along the way, who can join your journey as playable characters. For $10, it was already a steal, but for free? It’s a no brainer.
Super Bomberman R
Bomberman is back, stronger than ever, and joins forces with Master Chief Bomber. The 8 Bomberman heroes journey to space to face the Evil Emperor Buggler, in classic gameplay worth all the time and nostalgia in the world. With the exciting Classic Battle Mode being back, you can challenge players around the world in online battles. I already own this personally on the Switch, but hey, why not grab it here as well?
Assassin’s Creed Rogue
The plot to this historical action game is set in a fictional history of real-world events and follows the centuries-old struggle between the Assassins, who fight for peace with free will, and the Templars, who desire peace through control. The story is set in the mid-18th century during the Seven Years’ War and follows Shay Patrick Cormac, an Assassin-turned-Templar, who hunts down former members of his Brotherhood after being betrayed by them. Gameplay in Rogue is very similar to that of Black Flag with a mixture of ship-based naval exploration, and third-person land-based exploration with some new features.
Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy
This is one of the best games, in the golden age of LucasArts Star Wars games, no doubt. In single-player mode, the player takes control of the character Jaden Korr, a student at the Jedi Academy under the tutelage of Kyle Katarn. The player must complete various missions assigned to them by Katarn and Luke Skywalker. There is also a multiplayer mode that allows players to play against other people over the internet. As a first and third-person action game set in the Star Wars expanded universe, Jedi Academy puts the player into combat wielding a variety of firearms from that universe, as well as lightsabers and Force powers.
These are great games, so get your hands on them as soon as they are available. Bloodstained is available all of February, Super Bomberman R from February 16th to March 15th, Assassins’s Creed Rogue from the 1st to the 15th, and Jedi Knight free from February 1st through February 28th.
