With the recent release of the PlayStation 5, I thought I’d torture myself by counting the five games I’m excited to play when I finally get the console. Here are the five games I’m excited to play on the PS5.
1. Horizon Forbidden West
Horizon Zero Dawn quickly became one of my favorite games of all time when it released back in 2017. The world was lush and expansive, the combat was thrilling and the story was a wonderful and emotional adventure. Aloy was a blast to play with as well, with phenomenal voice work by Ashley Burch. Is it any wonder I’m excited for the next chapter with new enemies and new mysteries waiting to be uncovered?
There’s a new threat to face with an evil red plant killing the wildlife. It just screams Red Weed from War of The Worlds. I swear to god if I see a Tri Pod…
Sylens is also back and is looking like he’s up to no good. Should be fun.

2. Hogwarts Legacy
I’ve never really been a fan of the Harry Potter franchise. I like the films well enough, but I have zero interest in reading the books. What I do love however is the magic of it all. And not the magic of the world. I’m not talking expelliarmus or any of that. I’m talking about the magic the world inspires.
Now Americans have Harry Potter world in Orlando but we in England have the real deal in Watford where the films were made. I’ve been there twice and want to go again. The experience is just breathtaking.
So when an open world action RPG, set at Hogwarts years before the stories of Fantastic Beasts and Harry Potter and has nothing to do with “he who will not be named” is revealed, how can I not be excited? I’m literally replaying Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets for the PS2!
We get to create our own character, pick our house, our friends and even decide our morality alignment! Our character holds the secret to ancient magics that could change the world of magic forever and it’s our decision whether or not we hide the power for the greater good or go all sith lord and take over the world. Either way it sounds awesome!

3. Little Devil Inside
Not much is known about this new IP, but what we can see in the trailer is definitely exciting. From what we’re shown it looks like we will be taking control of some sort of monster hunter which will take us to different terrains where we will likely face different enemies. Little Devil Inside promises adventure, action and plenty of humor with its unique witty style. And as for the graphics? They’re astonishingly gorgeous.

4. Kena: Bridge Of Spirits
Here’s another new IP with yet again astonishingly beautiful graphics. Seriously look at it, look at it! It looks like we’re playing in a Pixar film! And it’s only being made by a small studio!
In this one, we play as Kena, a spirit guide of sorts and there’s some guy being all judgy about her being all goody goody. Either he’s the bad guy or just a harsh critique.
The world looks lush, alive and quite frankly adorable. Adventure, magic and action are promised in this one and I can’t wait.

5. Ratchet And Clank: Rift Apart
And finally, for the list, we have the upcoming new Ratchet and Clank game. The Ratchet and Clank series is really important to me. One of the first games I ever owned was Ratchet and Clank 2 alongside Crash Bandicoot Nitro Cart.
However when I saw this announced I wasn’t initially excited. I just assumed it would be a continuation of the reboot that I found to be disappointing. Then I heard something really exciting. Rift Apart is a sequel to the original canon! That’s right this game is a follow up to the 2013’s Into The Nexus!
That’s right baby! Nefarious is back and he’s got a dimensionator and he ain’t putting it down just because you tell him to. This one is a long time coming and I can’t wait.

And that’s it for the list. Those were five games that I’m excited to play on the PS5. Stay Safe and thanks for reading.
