On its website yesterday, developer Mediatonic announced Fall Guys for the Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Nintendo Switch has been delayed. The game was previously set to launch during the summer.
“While we want to launch on these platforms as quickly as possible, we believe the Switch and Xbox releases are really going to be worth waiting for and we’re super grateful for your patience,” reads the statement.
Mediatonic also said the delay will allow it to include cross-play. Currently, the PlayStation 4 and PC versions of Fall Guys do not have cross-play.
It’s been a busy year for Mediatonic. Since the developer launched Fall Guys in February 2020, Epic Games acquired Tonic Games Group, Mediatonic’s parent company. According to the developer, the acquisition gives it “a whole host of new tools to enhance the experience of those who are down with the Crown.”
