Dungeons And Dragons Book Merges in Magic the Gathering

Wizards of the Coast are coming out with its own Dungeons and Dragons book set in the Magic The Gathering city of Ravnica.

A new Dungeon Master book titled D&D Guildmasters’ Guide to Ravnica has been found on Amazon.ca for pre-order at $65.95 CAD and is “currently unavailable” on Amazon.com. The release is scheduled for November 20th, 2018. D&D Guildmasters’ Guide to Ravnica is the first print book to be released that is a merger of both Dungeons and Dragons and Magic the gathering, with only Plane Shifts being released online for free. The book will be set in one of Magic the Gathering’s most famous and well-known location in the game, Ravnica. The city has played a major part in the card game and for the lore that surrounds it. On the cover of the book, the famous Niv-Mizzet, an incredibly brilliant scientist dragon and master of the Niv-Mizzet guild, is visible in the background.

The merger of properties is not new but is a nice surprise for fans of both games as each is based in a high fantasy setting with Orcs, Goblins, Wizards, Angels, and Dragons to name a few. Both will work well together and may be a great way to get fans into either game if they are not already a fan of both.

Both Dungeons and Dragon and Magic the Gathering are properties that Wizards of the Coast own. Previously there have been supplementary Plane Shift campaigns set in various Magic the Gathering planes, a different dimension in the universe, for the 5th edition ruleset of Dungeons and Dragons. The Plane Shift campaigns are small free online only PDFs that give the bases for players to play in the Magic the Gathering setting with descriptions of the races, world, and often bestiary, while also in some cases having trails put in.
