Asus’ upcoming update for its ROG Phone 3 isn’t about a security patch. Instead, the update will focus on improving the audio quality of compatible gaming headsets.
The improved audio is due to a new collaboration between Asus and sound company Dirac Research. The two companies also collaborated on the ROG Phone 3’s dual front-facing speakers, with Dirac providing audio algorithms to enhance the sound.
Asus didn’t say when the update will be available.
Announced in July, the ROG Phone 3 is Asus’ latest gaming smartphone. In addition to RGB lighting on the back and a 144Hz refresh rate for the display, the phone features a large 6,000mAh battery and the Snapdragon 865 Plus processor.
The ROG Phone 3 is available in the U.S., India, Europe, and a few other regions.
